League Rules & Information

Official

Introduction

Welcome to the Premier and Select II Fantasy Football League — one of the longest-running leagues around, established in 2010. This is a competitive, well-organized league with real stakes and a promotion/relegation system that makes every single game matter, all season long.

It is your responsibility to read and understand everything in this document. Most questions managers have are already answered here. Please read carefully before reaching out to the commissioner.

There are two leagues. The Premier League is the top flight where the true champion of champions is crowned each season. The Select II League is the second division — where new members start and where teams earn their way up through strong play.

League Structure

Both leagues operate on the Sleeper platform. Each league runs independently with its own standings, playoffs, and champion — but teams move between leagues through promotion and relegation at the end of every season.

  • Premier League — 14 teams. The top flight. This is where the main championship is decided.
  • Select II League — 12 teams. The second division. All new members start here.
  • Regular Season — Weeks 1–13 (13 games total).
  • Playoffs — Weeks 14–17. Top 6 teams in each league qualify.
  • Consolation Bracket — Non-playoff teams compete for finishing position. This affects relegation, so it matters even if you miss the playoffs.
New members are added to Select II every season. As long as they are reasonably active and make a genuine effort to compete, their roster spot is secure.

Promotion & Relegation

At the end of each season, the bottom teams in Premier League are relegated to Select II, and the top finishers in Select II earn promotion. This system keeps every game meaningful — even if you're out of playoff contention, where you finish still matters.

Relegation from Premier League — 4 teams are relegated each season:

  1. Complete the regular season (Weeks 1–13)
  2. The bottom 2 teams by regular season standings are automatically relegated
  3. Non-playoff teams play out the consolation bracket (Weeks 14–17)
  4. The next 2 lowest finishers in the consolation bracket (not already relegated) are also relegated
The top 2 teams that missed the playoffs are protected from consolation-bracket relegation — they cannot finish at the bottom of the bracket, so their spot is safe from this second round.

Promotion from Select II — 4 teams earn promotion each season:

  1. Select II Champion earns promotion
  2. Select II Runner-Up earns promotion
  3. Select II 3rd Place earns promotion
  4. The team with the highest single-week score across the entire Select II season earns promotion — one massive week early in the season can lock up a spot before the standings shake out
Special exception: If the top three single-week scorers in Select II finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall, the 4th promoted team is whoever finishes 4th in the final standings.

Draft

Both leagues hold a live snake draft in late August before the NFL season begins. All managers are strongly expected to be present for the live draft — missing it forces an auto-draft, putting your team at a serious disadvantage from day one.

  • Format — Snake draft (order reverses each round)
  • Roster Size — 15 players drafted per team
  • Time Per Pick — 90 seconds during the live draft window
  • Draft Order — Determined by the draft race (see Luck Adjustment section)
  • Trades Allowed — Trades open immediately after the draft concludes; no waiting for the season to start
Mark the draft date on your calendar. If you know you will be unavailable, pre-rank your players in the app so your auto-picks reflect your preferences.

Roster Settings

Each team carries 15 players on the active roster. The starting lineup each week is:

  • 1 QB — Quarterback
  • 2 RB — Running Backs
  • 2 WR — Wide Receivers
  • 1 TE — Tight End
  • 1 FLEX — RB, WR, or TE
  • 1 K — Kicker
  • 1 DEF — Team Defense / Special Teams
  • 6 BN — Bench spots (do not score points)
Always set your lineup before Sunday kickoff. The app does not auto-swap injured players out of your starting lineup — that is your responsibility every week.

Scoring & Settings

Both leagues use PPR (Point Per Reception) scoring — every catch earns 1 point. Bonus points are awarded for standout performances, and penalties are slightly more severe than standard ESPN/Yahoo defaults.

  • Passing TD — 4 pts  |  Rush / Rec TD — 6 pts
  • Passing Yards — 0.04 pts/yd  (25 yds = 1 pt)
  • Rush / Rec Yards — 0.1 pts/yd  (10 yds = 1 pt)
  • Reception (PPR) — 1 pt per catch
  • 300+ Yd Passing Game — Bonus points awarded
  • 100+ Yd Rush or Rec Game — Bonus points awarded
  • Interception Thrown — −2 pts  |  Fumble Lost — −2 pts
The Sleeper app is always the official source for scoring settings. Check the app directly if you ever have a question — settings listed here are a general guide and may be updated each season.

Waivers & FAAB

After the draft and after each week, free agents become available through FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) waivers. Each team begins the season with a $28 budget — roughly $2 per week of the regular season.

  • Waiver bids are blind — you cannot see what others are bidding
  • The highest bidder wins the player; ties go to the team with lower waiver priority
  • Dropped players sit on waivers for 2 days before becoming free agents (claimable at $0)
  • FAAB budget does not reset mid-season — manage it wisely across the full year
  • There is no limit to how many waiver claims you can make in a week
New to fantasy football? FantasyPros.com is highly recommended for waiver wire rankings and start/sit decisions. Most veteran managers in this league use it.

Trades

Trading is open from draft day through the trade deadline. All trades must be proposed and accepted inside the Sleeper app. There is no commissioner review — accepted trades process automatically after a short window.

  • Trade Deadline — Week 11 (check the app for the exact cutoff)
  • Processing Delay — 24 hours after both sides accept before the trade goes live
  • Veto System — Trades are not voted on by the league and will be approved by the commisioner. Most trades will be approved as long as it does not affect the integrity of the league. Collusion is the main exception (see Couples Policy)
  • Future Draft Picks — Cannot be traded at this time
Trade as aggressively as you want — it is fantasy football. But intentionally unfair trades between friends or couples to gain a competitive edge constitute collusion and will result in reversal and possible removal from the league.

Playoffs & Championship

The top 6 teams in each league qualify for the playoffs. The bracket runs Weeks 14–17, with the championship decided in the final week of the NFL regular season.

  • Week 14 (Round 1) — Seeds 3 vs. 6 and Seeds 4 vs. 5. Seeds 1 and 2 receive a first-round bye. For the 9th-12th place regular season finishers in Premier, a win in this week helps you stay in the league next year!
  • Week 15 (Quarterfinals) — Top 2 seeds enter; 4 teams remain.
  • Week 16 (Semifinals) — Final four compete; 2 advance to the championship.
  • Week 17 (Championship) — The final two managers battle for the title and the trophy.

The Premier League Champion is the overall champion of the two-league system. The Select II Champion earns the S2 title, a trophy, and automatic promotion to Premier League the following year.

Teams eliminated in the first round plus all non-playoff teams play in the consolation bracket during Weeks 14–17. Consolation finishing position directly affects relegation — do not go inactive just because you missed the playoffs.

Luck Adjustment (Premier League Only)

Before the draft order is randomized, each Premier League manager can optionally spend FAAB to improve their odds in the draft race. This adds a layer of strategy to the offseason — do you spend budget to chase a high draft pick, or save it all for the waiver wire?

The draft race runs on 100yardrush.com. Each turn advances your car 1–10 yards. For every FAAB dollar you spend, you receive a +5% per-turn advantage. You can spend between $1 and $9, or save your full $28 budget for the season. If no message is sent to the commissioner before the deadline, it is assumed you are spending $0 and keeping your full budget.

The Luck Adjustment applies to Premier League only. Select II draft order is determined by random draw with no FAAB spending involved.

Couples Policy

Some managers in the league are in relationships with other managers. To protect competitive integrity, couples must not actively help each other with adds, drops, lineup decisions, or trades during the season. Asking a general “who should I start?” question is fine — providing detailed roster management advice to your partner is not.

Trades between couples are permitted but must reflect fair market value. Do not exploit the relationship to benefit one side of the trade unfairly.

This is enforced on the honor system. There is no way to fully verify compliance, so please respect the spirit of the league. Reported violations with supporting evidence will be reviewed by the commissioner and may result in trade reversal.
